About ERSC

Elite Rays Swim Club (ERSC) aquatics facility, is primarily located at Prince George's Community College in Largo, Maryland  and College of Southern Maryland in LaPlata, Maryland. PG Community College facility provides an Olympic-size arena allowing proper training. ERSC started two years ago and was officially incorporated in 2009. This team is registered with the USA Swimming Association and Potomac Valley Swimming. The team travels to various locations in the Metropolitan Area competing. Our swimmers have goals to obtain scholarships from educational institutions and to swim in the Olympics. Some swimmers have made it to the Junior Olympics and/or to the All-County Swim Team.  ERSC was recognized throughout the Prince Georges’ County and Southern Maryland as one of the most outstanding swim clubs in the metropolitan area.

ERSC provides the youth, between the ages of six and up, the opportunity to participate in age-group competitive swimming, to develop advanced swimming skills, to excel in a sport, to meet new people, and have a lot of fun. ERSC emphasizes a team concept where swimmers with any ability level can benefit from the social rewards of participating with others. Swimming also provides one of the most beneficial forms of exercise for cardiovascular and overall fitness. This exercise can be enjoyed throughout one's entire life.

ERSC operates nine months during the Fall/Winter months and two months during the Summer. The team currently has a tentative schedule of 26 or more swim meets during the fall/winter season, which begins in early September through the end of May. The only qualification for team membership is a basic knowledge of a few different strokes. As a general rule, anyone who can get across the pool with a crawl stroke, breaststroke, and basic butterfly can join the team. As long as the beginning proficiency is there, the coaching staff can work on developing their talent.
