Hello All: It is about that time of year when you have our 2nd Annual Swim A Thon. Please mark your calendars for Saturday, March 3, 2012 at College of Southern Maryland 5-6:00pm (10 & Under) and 6:-7:00pm (11 & Over). We will have DJ present to motivate our swimmers during this event. Parents are welcome to sit around the pool or in the overview room. How does the Swim A Thon works? Well, each swimmer will receive an envelope to collect donations per length of the pool not laps (length is one way up) they complete. Family, friends, church members, employees etc can bid on how much to donate per length of the pool. For example, Aunt Brenda may want to bid $1.00 per length and the swimmer swims 25 length within the hour so the Aunt Brenda will donate $25.00. Bids can be from one cents to any amount. The swimmer will collect the money a week after the Swim A Thon event is completed and the lengths are added up. If your swimmer is not able to participate, donations are always welcomed. It is very important that your handwriting is legible on the envelopes so we know who to address the donations receipt to for tax purposes. The money raised is for our end of the year banquet and everyone is invited, CSM and PGCC swim clinics participants and our Swim Team members. We appreciate and acknowledge everyone for their hard work and commitment.
Donations are Due on Saturday, March 10, 2012. Please submit your donations on time because ERSC has to give USA Swimming a percentage of the amount raised to fund materials for other swim teams that would like to host a Swim A Thon. Envelopes will be given out beginning Monday, February 6th. One more thing, I will need volunteers to assist in tallying up lengths completed by each swimmer. Just email me if you would like to volunteer. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. |

Greetings All,
Attached please find the information and application to travel as a member of the DMV-PV travel team to Cary, NC for the 10th Annual National Black Heritage Championship Swim Meet. We have been busy planning for the meet and look forward to defending our Championship Title from last year. We'd love to have you and your swimmer participate again this year.
Please carefully read the attachment, it has all of the info about cost and what you need to do to secure your spot on the team. Spaces are limited and we want to accommodate those who participated last year. Deposits are due on March 3rd but we suspect spaces will fill up prior to then, we've already received inquiries about this meet from both new and returning Potomac Valley swimmers.
If you have questions concerning the meet, travel arrangements, or anything else related to this trip feel free to contact me. Please spread the word to others on your team! I look forward to traveling with you again this year.
Sincerely, Rhonda Waller DMV-PV Travel Coordinator
